Why do the slices stick together?
The most common cause is temperature fluctuations. When the package is taken out of the refrigerator and put back in, the moisture on the surface condenses and the slices stick together.
Note: Open the package near the counter, take only the amount you’ll use that day, and immediately return the rest to the refrigerator. Do not force apart any stuck-together slices—letting the package sit at room temperature for a few minutes before separating them will prevent the slices from tearing.
Are Kashar and toast cheese the same thing?
No. Kaşar is a matured cheese; some of the products sold under the name “toast cheese,” on the other hand, are specifically produced for their melting properties and have a softer texture. Kaşar has a more pronounced milky flavor.

How should it be stored?
Store at +2 / +4 °C. Seal the opening of the package after opening, or transfer the slices to a container with a lid; slices left exposed will dry out and harden around the edges.
Consume the opened package within a few days. Slices that have dried out will be difficult to melt on toast.
Can it be frozen?
If it is to be melted, it can be frozen; when thawed, the texture crumbles slightly, but this isn’t noticeable on toast. Frozen cheddar is not recommended for cold platters. Freezing the slices with paper between them makes them easier to separate.
