Description

Burrata (correctly spelled “burrata”) is a fresh Italian cheese made by filling a mozzarella shell with cream and stracciatella. It has an elastic exterior and a creamy, runny interior; when cut with a knife, the filling spreads onto the plate. Santral Gıda supplies burrata in three different sizes to hotels, restaurants, cafes, and bakeries in Istanbul.

Which weight should you choose?

Portion sizes are determined based on the type of dish and how it is served: 80–120 g is appropriate for a single-serving appetizer plate, while 150 g is suitable for a shared mezze or salad.

What is the wholesale price of burrata cheese?

The price of burrata varies depending on weight, milk type, and order quantity. For corporate purchases, special pricing is offered based on quantity; a fixed price list is created for businesses that place regular orders. Contact us for a current quote or generate a quote list from our interactive catalog. We do not sell to individual/retail customers.

How is it served?

Burrata should be taken out of the refrigerator 15–20 minutes before serving; as it approaches room temperature, its texture softens and its milky flavor becomes more pronounced. It is served raw—added to pizza after it comes out of the oven and to pasta right before serving. When heated, the pouch melts and the product loses its distinctive character. For detailed serving and pairing suggestions, please see our burrata cheese guide.

Storage and shelf life

Store at 2–4 °C in its own liquid. Consume within 1–2 days after opening the package. Do not freeze —if frozen, the curd crystallizes, and when thawed, the cream releases water. Fresh burrata is not sour; a noticeable sourness or cloudy packaging liquid indicates that it has lost its freshness.

Delivery

All fresh and refrigerated products, including burrata, are delivered to Istanbul’s 39 districts six days a week using our own cold-chain fleet. Since this is a product with a short shelf life, frequent deliveries are both more economical and safer than keeping a large inventory on hand at any one time.
